Is there any cost to use OpenIftar.com or list my event?

No, OpenIftar.com is a free service. You can search for events to participate in, or list yours absolutely free!

Can I put a link to my site or organization on the event I post?

Yes, provided that it is your site or your organization and that it is not a commercial promotion of someone else’s site. If there are entities sponsoring your event with supplies, food, or helping hands you may list them in the event sponsor space.

Please do not abuse this by including commercial links so as not to compromise your account status. Please make sure that you observe the terms and conditions that you agreed to when signing up for an account.

Can I post multiple Open Iftar events?

You can have as many Open Iftar events as you like. We only ask that you honor your commitment to the community by holding the events as planned, and if it is necessary to cancel, please notify those who are following the event and post an update on the event page.

How can I contact an event organizer?

Go to the event page then click on the organizer’s name which will take you to the organizer’s page. From there click on the button that says “Contact Organizer” then type in your message and click send.

How can I report abuse or inappropriate text in an event listing or comment?

Please contact us and include a link to the offending page.

How can I organize an event and solicit help in organizing it?

When you list your event, you can select the “yes” option next to ‘need volunteers’. You can include a list in the description of areas where you need help and people can contact you.

We suggest that you talk to friends and neighbors to see who may want to take on a certain task so that your event is successful. The most important step is to commit yourself to organizing the event and you will find many people willing to help as long as you tell them what to do.

What is the benefit of creating an account?

If you want to list events, follow events, or rate events you will need to sign up for an account.

What is the benefit of following an event?

Following an event provides the organizer with means to contact you with updates on the event. Additionally, you can only rate events that you follow and attend.
